Q: Why did you decide to become a lawyer?
A: I enjoy solving problems. Some of the issues the law deals with are fairly clear cut; others can present issues that are extremely complex and challenging to resolve.
Q: What are your major practice areas?
A: Commercial litigation and transactions, as well as municipal law—I have been the City Attorney for Smyrna, Georgia for a number of years.
Q: What values guide you in your practice of law?
A: Hard work, honesty, and fairness are all traits that are required of an attorney. Getting along with people and understanding their different points of view is also key.
Q: What types of things keep you centered?
A: I try to keep a good balance between my work and home life. My wife and I have been married almost 20 years and have a 14-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son. We are very close and enjoy church and spending time with friends. Outside of work, I also enjoy sports, travel, snow skiing and diving.
Q: What would you like your legacy to be?
A: That I helped the community as a whole as well as a lot of the individual people in it.
